The Dutch real estate market is currently going through one of its best phases, as the number of houses sold this autumn has increased considerably. The most recent statistics issued by the CBS indicate that more than 61,000 houses were sold in the third quarter of this year. Foreign investors interested in investing in real estate can rely on our company registration advisors in the Netherlands.
Most of the properties sold were houses, according to the CBS. In numbers, the houses real estate sector rose by 8% compared to same period of last year, which apartment real estate sales slowed down by 4%. The explanation is that apartment prices were higher this year compared to the previous one: around 12% higher, according to statistics.
However, the overall market registered a 1% increase during the third quarter of this year, compared to the third quarter of 2016.
The increase is also due to the slight decrease in house prices registered especially in the Amsterdam area. The CBS also notes that the prices falls is a general trend within Europe.

Even if Amsterdam has lost a little of its popularity among foreign buyers, the same happened in Rotterdam in Utrecht. Even if the prices in the same areas have decreased a little compared to the beginning of the year, they are still 10% higher than during the same period of last year.
In contrast to the most popular cities until now, The Hague registered much better results in terms of number of properties bought and prices. The whole northern part of the country was most sought than the southern one during 2017. This is because the number of investors coming here has also increased. Moreover, the number of foreign employees seeking for houses and apartments to buy rose slightly.
