The Netherlands Occupies 5th Position in the 2017 World Competitiveness Ranking

The Netherland has made a strong economic recovery based on business and government efficiency which has helped it to recover its place among the most competitive economies worldwide. The Netherlands is a place for “international ideas”

Or so it is described by José Caballero, economist at the IMD Business School, the society issuing the World Competitiveness Report on a yearly basis. The Netherlands boasts a high level of educations which is reflected by the workforce, but also a great deal of social flexibility which is why a great pool of ideas which have led to the internationalization of various industries. The Netherlands also performs well in terms of commercial activities at national level, a high degree of productivity and improved investment levels compared to the previous year.

The World Competitiveness Report is issued on annual basis since 1989 and this year it also included a separate index related to the digital capabilities of each country assessed by IMD. The Netherlands is now a leader in terms of digital abilities, according to this report.

The Netherlands in the World Digital Competitiveness Ranking

The Netherlands marked another top position in one of the reports issued by the IMD Business School, as in general terms, the country has one of the most advanced economies in terms of digital capabilities. The Netherlands occupies the overall 6th position in the World Digital Competitiveness Index.

The Netherlands ranked 3rd place when it comes to future readiness thanks to the business agility and the integration of information and communication technologies in the day-to-day activities carried out by the public authorities in relation to the population and Dutch companies. The funding of technological development is also regarded as strength by the report.
